Wiener in his theory postulated that all intelligent behaviours can be simulated by machines, making a case for artificial intelligence. Subsequently, more researches went into the field, and as of 1961, the world saw the first digital and programmable robot, Unimate. Unimate as designed by George Devol, another American inventor, was used in a motor assembly to carry out tasks that include; transporting die-cast, welding, etc.   Unimate is regarded as the first industrial robot, its name was patented by Devol in 1954.
